  • How do I know this is not a scam?
  • Sadly, scammers are now targeting listing sites by gaining access to the email accounts or adverts of owners and therefore intercepting messages and payments. The listing sites do little or nothing to combat the problem. How can you avoid being a victim? Most owners will have a varied web presence and can be found elsewhere with a little homework. A scammer will have none. For example, you can find me on Linkedin, Xing, Facebook, my own websites, the LHM rental forum and other adverts. You’ll even find me listed in the phonebook. Ask for more proof of ownership, eg. Photos of work done on the property or photos of the guestbook testimonials. Such requests will scare off most scammers. They want easy targets so don’t let them target YOU!
  • Do you provide anything for infants in the villa?

  • What is a pool salt water system?
  • Instead of adding chlorine directly to the water, salt is added to maintain a very low saline level. Ocean water has a salt content of around 35,000 parts per million ("ppm"). Humans have a salt taste threshold of around 3,500 ppm. Most salt water systems require a salt content of 2500 - 6000 ppm in the pool so the salt is normally not detectable by human taste. The pool water is passed over an electrode which produces a low level of chlorine to disinfect the pool. In a salt-water pool the water feels smooth, your skin feels smooth and many people feel more refreshed.
  • Do I need to clean the pool?
  • The pool will be regularly maintained and cleaned during the season. However, for your own enjoyment you may need to use the net to remove any insects which have drowned and not been caught by the skimmers.
  • Will you hold my booking while you wait for the deposit?
  • Yes. We normally allow a week for the deposit to be paid.
  • Are linen and towels provided?
  • Yes. Each bed will be provided with a set of linen as well as enough towels for up to 6 people. These items will be laundered after you leave and this is included in the rental fee. If you use anything in addition to this you should ensure they are washed and dried before you leave. Beach towels are not provided.
  • Is there a hairdryer?
  • Yes, there is one in each bathroom as well as one curling iron.
  • Is there car parking?
  • Yes. There is a closed garage large enough for an average sized family car. (Maximum height 192cm) Should you require additional parking space, then there is parking space next to the church at the end of the lane leading to the villa. This is about 300m away.
  • Is the villa/pool private?
  • The villa is located on a hill with a pine forest to the rear. Although we have neighbours to the sides and below, we are not really overlooked by other houses and you can expect plenty of privacy.
  • Do you have smoke detectors?
  • Yes, in every room. You'll also find a fire extinguisher and a fire blanket.
  • Does the villa have an alarm?
  • Yes. Please ask if you wish to use this during your stay. The property is surrounded by either walls or trees and the only access is via a locked gate down at road level. There is an intercom fitted between the gate and the house. Therefore you can be reasonably sure that nobody can gain access to the property without your permission.
  • If I break something will I lose my deposit?
  • We ask that if you do damage anything during your stay you contact the owner. Normally the least expensive course of action would be to replace the item yourselves.
  • I have only booked for 4 people, can I invite some friends to come and stay with us?
  • No. The number of occupants must be specified at the time of booking.
  • Can I use the phone in the villa?
  • Yes. We provide a normal Telefonica phone line which can be used to make any outgoing calls. Your phonebill will be deducted from your damage deposit.If you expect to be using your mobile phone a lot then we would suggest buying a prepaid card for use with an unlocked phone. These can be purchased at supermarkets or phone shops.
  • You have wireless DSL and a PC at the villa?
  • Yes. The PC is available for guest use or you can bring your own laptop or PDA and connect to the wireless. We have also provided a multi-card reader and extra USB 2.0 ports for use with digital cameras.
  • What time is check-in/check-out?
  • Check-out is 10am and check-in is 4pm. If you wish to arrive/depart at different times, or perhaps want to leave your luggage at the house earlier, then let us know and we'll do our best to help.
  • Can we use the barbeque?
  • Of course! All we ask is that you clean it after use.
  • Is there air-conditioning / heating?
  • Yes. The three bedrooms, living room and dining room each have an air-conditioning / heating units. These cool the house down pretty quickly or warm it up in the winter. We ask that you don't leave them running for hours on end when you're out of the house all day as this simply wastes lots of energy. Each bedroom is also provided with a fan, as during the summer nights, it's often very refreshing to keep the windows open and just use a fresh air fan. All windows have mosquito screens.
  • How near is the beach?
  • About 15 minutes by car. There are many to chose from and all clean, sandy and good for kids.
  • Will I find cleaning materials in the house?
  • Yes. As well as normal cleaning materials you'll find provisions such as bottled water, beer, wine, coffee, tea, various condiments and some emergency food stuffs such as quick pasta meals or canned goods. You are free to use anything in the house and all we ask is that you replace items you use with something similar.
  • I made an enquiry but received no reply?
  • We answer all enquiries usually within a matter of hours. Sometimes however, the email addresses we receive are either mistyped or unreachable for whatever reason. In some cases your ISP may treat our email as junk mail and it may not arrive in your inbox. If you fail to hear from us within 24 hours please call or send a text message to +41 788 733 417
